Howdy, and Merry Christmas Eve! If there’s a better gift out there than the inaugural Foothill Crew newsletter post, I’ve yet to open it.

Pompous humor aside, welcome, and thanks for being here. My hope is this can be a go-to source for cool events and happenings around the foothills. We operate in a weird space- we’re not urban folks, and the big city of Denver has too much traffic, concrete, and noise. Yet we’re not full blown mountain men/women (yet), ready to live off the land Dick Proenneke style (if that reference went over your head, which is possible, 👀 this documentary).

We still enjoy some of the luxuries of city living, while understanding time outdoors and in nature fills our cups to the brim. So we’re left to retreat to the fringes of the front range, in outposts such as Golden, Evergreen, and Idaho Springs.

The best of both worlds? Some are saying so.

Enjoy the holidays, but it looks like we’ll have to wait till next year for a white Christmas. Colorado weather strikes again.

Buffalo Rose 🎸 Quiet Riot, who have the first heavy metal album in history to go to #1 on the Billboard chart, are going to be blowing the roof off The Rose. 8-11pm, get your tickets through the Rose, and get your ear plugs at the retailer of your choice.

Over Yonder Brewing Company 🐟️ Live Phish stream, in 4k, of night 1 at Madison Square Garden. 5:30-10pm. For the unaware, Phish is a jam band… apparently a pretty big deal if they sell out 3 nights at MSG.
