Foothill Crew #02

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas, and now we’re on to New Years. I’m stoked at the growth of the Foothill Crew community after just a short period, so a sincere THANK YOU to everyone who has joined. Putting together this newsletter has been a joy for me, and it’s been awesome to dig up fun stuff happening in our backyard. Please continue to share this with others who would be a great addition and enjoy the content. The more the community grows, the better the newsletter gets. I truly believe that.

One of the major benefits of living in the foothills is easy access to the trails and outdoors that make Colorado magical. I’ve added a new section to the newsletter, The Trailhead, where we’ll post trail updates and pics from folks out there exploring. Let me know in the poll below if you like it or not!

There’s a lot happening around the area with NYE events. Peep the Weekly Roundup below. We’re sending out the newsletter a day early so everyone can make appropriate plans, and many events require some type of reservation, so don’t drag your feet.

Crazy to think it’s 2025 already- Happy New Years everyone, and I hope we all make it a great year. Cheers 🥂

I did a quick jaunt up Apex park (Argos to Pick N Sledge trails) the day after Christmas to burn off some cals. Trails were a little muddy after the rain/snow we got on Christmas, but certainly doable. 4 miles total (out and back), 1k ft of vertical gain, ~ 1.5 hours round trip. Apex has been my go to spot nearby, especially in the winter. With the sun exposure, the trail is usually in good shape. And there’s less chance encounters of rattlesnakes in the winter… which is a massive bonus as someone who’s terrified of snakes.

The Golden Mill, Golden- Noon Years Eve Dance Party 12-4pm. Family friendly event to ring in the new years with your favorite tunes from today and yesteryear

Evergreen Lake, Evergreen- IceFest Family Fun Skating Day at Evergreen Lake, 10 am - 6 pm. Family friendly, so keep your flasks at home. Grab your tickets at the door.

Nomadic Fire Mobile Sauna 🔥 @ Mountain Toad Brewing 🍺 , Golden- Mix up the usual NYE plans with a mobile sauna and craft beer combo. Ring in the new year in a healthy way feeling refreshed and invigorated. 1 hour long sauna slots between 5-9pm, limited spots, get yours!

The Golden Mill, Golden- NYE Party with DJ Oh’Nikki Ashley, from 7-11pm

Sit n Bull Saloon, Indian Hills- NYE Masquerade party 4pm-12am, celebrating NYE twice- once at 10pm for the old folks and then again at midnight.

Over Yonder Brewing, Golden- New Year's Eve Over Yonder combining the finer things of life, such as good vibes, craft beer and Phish livestreams. Reservations suggested

Buffalo Rose, Golden- Live @ The Rose - New Years Eve DJ Party: 80s vs. 90s. Get ready to party like its the 80s and 90s 🕺 all over again, and join the Rose crew for what some are saying is their best party of the year.

Evergreen Lakehouse, Evergreen -For the sophisticated crew members, get your black tie attire 🤵 pressed and ready and join the Evergreen Ball for a classy evening of hors d’oeuvres and a nine piece band. 8 pm - 12am, tickets required and only a limited number remain.

Wednesday

Sit N Bull Saloon, Indian Hills- Annual New Year’s Day PJ Party. Starting at 9am, drop on by for Bloody Mary’s, Mimosas, Screwdrivers and the Best Breakfast you could hope for! Sausage Gravy & Biscuits, Breakfast Burritos & More!

Evergreen Lake, Evergreen- Kickstart the new year right, wash away 2024’s sins, or a combo of the two at the Evergreen Lake Plunge, 10am-12pm. Registration required if you’re plunging, check it out. If anyone from the crew is in attendance, snap some pics.

Thursday

Mountain Toad Brewing, Golden- Join Mountain Toad Brewing and Cheese Ranch for a self guided cheese and beer pairing. 4pm-10pm. Say cheese

Cactus Jack’s Saloon, Evergreen- Thank you Thursday. Locals get 10% off all day while the kitchen is open, and is a great pregame for Open Mic Night 👇️

Buffalo Rose, Golden- “Just a small town girl, living in a lonely world…” get ready to belt some tunes, and join Still They Ride, America’s Definitive Journey Tribute band live at the Rose. Doors open at 7pm, Show starts at 8pm.

Sunday

Buffalo Rose, Golden- Austin Young Family Benefit and Fundraiser. Colorado’s own musician Austin Young and family have been dealt a tough hand in 2024, so join the local community to support a good cause and help ‘em out.
