It feels like the best parts of summer have arrived. Warmer temps, yet not unbearably hot. Light rain to keep things green. Fishing season kicking off. School’s out. Wildflowers in bloom. Green Mountain is actually, you know, green. No foothills history this week, we’re jumping straight into a jam packed week of events and highlights. Run clubs, rooftop yoga, outdoor music, farmers markets, craft beers on a patio. All the things that make Colorado awesome in the early summer. I hope you all get out there to enjoy it, and thanks for being here.

Summer Music Series

Exciting news for live music lovers - the fine folks at The Golden Hotel are unveiling a new summer music series, every week, all summer long! Situated on the courtyard overlooking Clear Creek, jam out with your friends and meet some new pals. There’s an awesome lineup of local musicians (“Colorado Americana”, anyone). Hard to think of better ways to enjoy the summer: Awesome music, local brews, and sweet, sweet Foothills sunsets.

No charge, just bring good vibes, and maybe your own lawn chair.

Weekend on the Water

Dig into your storage closet and dust off the fishing rods - Colorado is offering a free fishing weekend for all this weekend, June 7 & 8. No license is required for anyone to explore the amazing fisheries we have in our great state. Creeks, rivers, ponds, and lakes, it’s all fair game. Snow melt run off is approaching its peak in the high country, so if you do get out on the big rivers, tread with caution. The water is high and strong, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t fish to be put in the net!

Like most anglers, I'm always searching for the best small creeks, that hold huge rainbow and brown trout, and eagerly eat dry flies. Obviously without the crowds of other anglers. You know, the secret spots that anglers rarely ever share. Want all the secret spots most anglers feel is taboo to share? Lucky for you, I’ve spent years finding exactly those kinds of places. 👇️ 👇️
