Foothill Crew #03

This week in the Foothills

Happy New years everyone, and I hope everyone’s kicking off 2025 strong 💪 . Looks like winter finally decided to show up today here on the front range.

First, a big shout out to the new folks who have joined over the last few days. Welcome to the crew 👋 . Appreciate you all continuing to share this and passing along the good word.

Second, it appears the foothills has a thing for live music 🤘 and craft beers 🍺 . While I love those two things just about as much as anyone, the people have asked for some family friendly options. Since this newsletter is for the people, by the people, I’m happy to oblige. Don’t worry, there will still be plenty of live music and good beer to go around, we’ll just sprinkle in some other activities.

So if you know of good stuff happening that I may be missing, check out the submit an event feature below, and hook me up with the details!

Chimney Gulch trail, looking east towards Golden

Trail conditions clear lower….

But got icy and snowy higher up

January 6, 2025 trail report: Chimney Gulch trail. Nice trail just outside of Golden. Easily accessible with parking right off US-6. Pretty good uphill slog the entire way. Averages about 500 ft of vertical gain/mile. Trail conditions were dry in the lower section, but as you got higher up, trails were more snow packed and icy. Great views of downtown Golden, as well as North and South Table Mountain. Another great winter trail option.
