BEAT THE HEAT
This Week in the Foothills

SPLASH PAD GUIDE
It’s hot this week. Like “the playground equipment could double as a grill” hot. Yet when you have young kids, sometimes you gotta brace the elements and drag everyone outside - because keeping tiny humans cooped up indoors is a one-way ticket to chaos (and a serious threat to parent’s sanity).
Enter splash pads - our saviors! These magical havens have become a staple of our summer survival. Here’s your guide to the best splash pads around the Foothills for this upcoming scorcher of a week.
|
Or, there’s always the original splash pads - bring the kiddos to the creek and let them frolic. Bear Creek in Evergreen and Morrison is always a good choice, as well as Clear Creek in Golden (Age dependent… duh)
Hopefully this is the last of the real hot summer temps, but Colorado has a way of tricking us sometimes.
COMMUNITY CORNER
A loyal Foothill Crew reader (shout out Erica) reached out looking for a suggestion, and I figured - what’s the point of having an awesome community of locals who love the outdoors if we don’t tap into that wisdom every once in a while.
Here’s her ask: “what are your recommendations on campsites not far away that have some place to fish? Our young nephews are coming from out of town and want to fish.”
Can anyone help a fellow Crew member out? Don’t worry - this stays between us. Your secret spots won’t get blown up on the internet or shared publicly. Think of it like giving directions to a neighbor.
If your recommendation gets chosen, I owe you a beer! (scout’s honor)
Simply respond back to this email if you feel generous enough to share.
