Thanksgiving week is here, and that brings lots of travel and chaotic schedules. This week’s edition is a bit shorter. There’s a handful of community thanksgiving events on Thursday if you’re looking for a friendly table to sit down at. If you’re a family who’s into turkey trots as your Thanksgiving morning prep, there’s a couple options around the area: Applewood Turkey Trot, Evergreen Turkey Trot, and the Great Turkey Chase in Golden.

Saturday is Small Business Saturday, so don’t be shy about getting out there and supporting the amazing small businesses that give our communities their soul. Most businesses have some sort of deal going on (too many to list here), so grab a coffee (local, please) and enjoy the holiday season. It really is one of the best times of the year.

COCKTAIL

Thanksgiving is a beautiful time of gratitude, family, and the annual tradition of pretending you’re thrilled to discuss politics at the dinner table with the in laws. And once that dust settles, your mom might slide in wondering if your “internet business” is “still a phase.”

To help soothe the nerves, I present to you this editions holiday cocktail…

Whiskey. Straight Whiskey, maybe on the rocks. Possibly neat.

Pairs well with deep breaths and stepping outside to “check on the dog.”

Jokes aside (and this is a joke everyone!) I hope you all have a wonderful time with family this week. Its a great time to enjoy a glass of the brown water (or drink of choice) with the people you love. Local distiller State 38 has some good options.

And I swear this is not a shot at my in laws (or my mother for that matter), who do, in fact, read this newsletter.
