So every once in a while, I like to sprinkle some local real estate nuggets and finds into Foothill Crew. But do it in a way that the community gets some value out of. Golden certainly isn’t lacking for beer options, but we’re about to add a plus one. The old veterinarian office at 17575 South Golden Road will soon become the new flagship home of Bruz Beers, the Belgian-style brewery co-owned by Golden local Ryan Evans.

Bruz bought the one-acre property, hopes to start construction early next year, and is aiming for a grand opening in mid-2028.

The building plans are going to be cool. There will be a two-story taproom with a bar on each floor, awesome views of the Front Range and Table Mountain, and a large outdoor garden big enough for events and festivals. Also included: a coffee and breakfast spot, and there’s even rumors of a drive through beer pick up…

How the deal came together is the best part. Ryan spent years looking for a permanent home and toured hundreds of properties, churches included. But as we know, real estate is expensive. When he found this one, the price didn’t make sense. So he kept an eye on it. When it finally came down (only a little), that was enough to start a conversation with the owners, a family that’s been in Golden for generations. He invited them to his brewery, and they hit it off. Both sides agreed that doing something good for the community mattered most. So they sent the “real estate suits” (the attorneys) home and ironed out the deal right there over a couple of pints.

Most commercial real estate deals these days are about squeezing out every last dollar, so it’s cool when one bucks the trend.
