‘Don’t say anything about the weather… its so cliche’….. Man, it’s really gonna be a scorcher this weekend! Summer solstice is here, and the 100 degree temps decided to show up with it. It sounds so silly, but I truly feel the sun is so much more intense here in Colorado. Hope everyone finds a way to cool off. Clear Creek is still closed due to high water, but Bear Creek lake is always a good option, or do what we are doing, and escape to the high country in search of cooler temps. If you are around town, as usual, lots of great options to keep ya busy. The Golden art festival should be a grand time, or stay indoors and check out a comedy show up in Conifer. Stay cool, have fun, and enjoy the longest day of the year. -Tyler

ARTSWEEK GOLDEN kicked off yesterday, and we have a full week-long celebration of the arts in town, culminating with the ARTSWEEK GOLDEN FESTIVAL Saturday and Sunday in Parfet Park, near downtown Golden. Check out over 70 artist booths, and for the first time, a beer garden with local brews being served up all day. To lead up to the weekend festival, there are events happening all over Golden in conjunction with the event:

Yes, Chef

The husband and wife duo behind some of Evergreen’s favorite dining destinations have unveiled plans to open a new spot in downtown Morrison, and boy does it sound delicious. Dubbed La Rocca Rossa (translating to “The Red Rock” in Italian…fitting), the restaurant will be an upscale Italian steakhouse. The menu is centered on the chef’s love for fire grilling, and will be serving up dishes such as layered lasagna, fennel-dusted scallops, and bison short ribs 😋 . The restaurant, in the former Cafe Prague space, plans to be open this summer.

Excited to see this come to life. Morrison has some exciting new developments coming, with the addition of this excellent sounding restaurant, and the Red Hotel getting underway next door (which we covered a few weeks ago).
